Lago di Garda - Lake Garda - Gardasee

Catalogata come una delle salite asfaltate più “VELENOSE e FEROCI “ di tutto il Lago di Garda. Dal km 2 al km 8 la salita presenta una pendenza media del 14,6 % con punte che sfiorano il 20%. Questo è quello che dicono di LEI: “….la strada sembra essere soggetta ad una forza di gravità particolare. Per 6 km non ho scampo se non combattere contro la vocina che mi dice “ SCENDI E SPINGI”…. Il suo nomignolo è dovuto alla sua pendenza media, un vero massacro per chi la fa con le due corone della bici da corsa…in mountain bike, se non altro, si ha il vantaggio di avere i rapportini e di poter quindi andare su più adagio…UNA VERA SFIDA… In un paio di chilometri arrivammo al primo tornante, che appena superato ci mostrò di colpo tutta la terribile realtà che ci aspettava: la prima di una lunga serie di rampe al 16-17%. I rapporti agili (28-29x39) che avevamo innestato da subito cominciarono a farsi duri da tirare, poi durissimi, impossibili da spingere seduti, e anche "fuori sella", a causa dell’asfalto viscido, dovevamo compiere vere acrobazie per non cadere rovinosamente a terra…

Sie wird als eine der „giftigsten und grausamsten“ asphaltierten Aufstiege des gesamten Gardasees bezeichnet. Vom zweiten bis zum achten Kilometer präsentiert die Strecke ein durchschnittliches Gefälle von 14,6 Prozent. An einigen Stellen erreicht das Gefälle sogar bis zu zwanzig Prozent.
Dies sagt man von ihr: „…Die Straße scheint eine besondere Erdanziehungskraft zu besitzen. Über sechs Kilometer scheine ich keinen Ausweg zu haben und muss gegen die kleine Stimme in mir ankämpfen, die mir sagt „steige ab und schiebe“… .
Ihren Spitznamen hat sie ihrem durchschnittlichen Gefälle zu verdanken, ein wahres Massaker für den, der sie mit dem Rennrad zurücklegt…beim Mountainbike hat man zumindest den Vorteil der Gangschaltung und folglich kann man langsamer hinauffahren…Eine echte Herausforderung…Nach ein paar Kilometern erreichten wird die erste Serpentine. Kaum hatten wir sie hinter uns, konnten wir die schreckliche Realität sehen, die uns erwartete: die erste einer langen Reihe von Rampen mit 16 bis 17 Prozent Gefälle. Die Gänge (28-29x39), die wir von Beginn an genutzt hatten, wurden immer schwerer, dann ganz schwer. Unmöglich, im Sitzen zu treten. Und auch im Stehen mussten wir auf Grund des rutschigen Asphalts wahre Akrobatiken vollbringen, um nicht zu stürzen.
